Diamond makes Error on Sparks #5 and leaves it out of August previews

We got the official news this week and we hope it doesn’t kill the readership. We’ve worked really hard to get each book ahead of the printers so folks can get it on time.

This is from our rep at Diamond.

The Previews Plus code for Sparks #5 is: JUN088056 F  SPARKS #5 (OF 6) (MR) (PP #829)

As mentioned before, due to a Diamond error, Sparks #5 was inadvertently left out of the August issue of Preview. The title is available for order as a Previews Plus item using the code above. More information is available on the Diamond Comics Retailers Website.

Sparks #5 will also be available for order in the September issue of Previews, along with Sparks #6 and a very special signed edition of William Katt’s new comic Greatest American Hero (published in conjunction with Arcana Studios.

Interview with Sparks writer and the most shallow human being I know!

Wow, Chris Folino you’re a tool! This interview made me laugh and you’re shameless with your promotion of Gamers The Movie, it’s inspiring to no one! Read this funny interview.

Here’s my favorite highlight from it!

Richard: What do you do with any free time you have?

Christopher: I write Sparks and wash all of Bill’s twenty five cars and I also do his laundry and once month, I have to prepare and feed him fugu fish dressed in the Greatest American Hero outfit. Sure, it’s creepy as hell, but, I’m getting a comic book made.

Review of Sparks 2 by Jim Martin

Here is a new review by Jim Martin of Book 2 of Sparks from comics and blogspots.

Overall Grade A

The tag line: Sparks is a golden age noir super hero saga that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go.

http://comicsand.blogspot.com/2008/07/sparks-2-of-6-spotlight-review.html

Thanks to Jim Martin for everything, he’s opened a lot of doors for us and we really appreciate his kindness and he and his team do an amazing job on their site, it’s good stuff!

Before the big announcement a little more love for Sparks

As excited as we are for the big announcement, where a leak may happen as soon as later today. I want to give some props to JM and Chris for Sparks, I dig the book and it’s a great story.

Don’t believe me? Well check out these highlights froma new review of Issue 1.

“A surprisingly good first issue, with an interesting narration to start the story off. “
“What works for Sparks is that it doesn’t make the character’s over explain everything in the book. Never in the narration does Sparks going into a tangent about the world or the Villain taking over the world. He just talks about himself, but like most guys when they do that, he keeps it simply. Fact of the matter is the art does a lot of the work for the writer. The news tells you who’s the Villain and what’s happening in the World. The art tells you what the character’s are feeling and thinking with out it having to be said in world or though bubbles. Overall this book is like I said in the beginning… surprisingly good.”
“Often times names get thrown onto books and that book ends up being a disappointment but it seems that William Katt and Chris Folino make a good team”
